The due date of the much anticipated birth of our new Web site is nearly here. Yes, we’ve kept it a secret. To be honest, it just happened so fast. So before we knew it, we carried to term and the day has arrived. To say we’re excited is putting it lightly.

Before we move forward, I just want to let TideSports.com know that I love you more now than ever before. I want you to continue to grow and achieve, and will be here for you no matter what. I promise you that.

You see, I wasn’t here for the birth of TideSports.com. I came in a few years afterward, filling in as a father figure the best way I knew how. It certainly wasn’t easy those first few months. But now heading into our third football season together, there is a strong bond between us that is unique and wonderful. I feel like now, TideSports.com, you can call me Dad.

So, TideSports.com … we have a new bundle arriving shortly and I’ll need all the help around here that you can muster. It’s a big responsibility, but I’m up for the task. It’s all about spreading your wings, and taking your shots. As a family we will be better, stronger … and more importantly: Bigger.

I hope we learn something from each other along the way. And someday we can look back on this, sitting on the porch with an ice cold beer as your offspring sends out SMS and video reports via who knows what technology. But that’s a long ways away.
